The Cure Tonics were created during the quarantine, when most of the hospitality staff in Sydney and the rest of the world were laid off or stood down. Due to the pandemic I was stood down from my job as a bartender too and found myself with too much time on my hands and too little money to pay the rent. I brainstormed trying to think of something that I could contribute to the market with my skill set and guess what - The Cure was born! A line of syrups made with highest quality local and imported ingredients that lets you mix the ultimate tonic water in your own home.
Most cocktail bartenders would generally spend a significant amount of time hand prepping their syrups for use in craft cocktails or to make sodas for mixing with quality spirits. The Cure Tonics let you have high grade tonic water to mix with your favourite gin at the comfort of your own home.
Keeping the nutritional benefits of our wide selection of ingredients is important to us and that is why our syrups are made not by boiling, but by steeping the ingredients. The process of steeping helps extract the flavour and the nutrients. Besides other benefits, The Cure Tonics have 30% less sugar than other market leading Tonic Water Soda drinks.
One of the main ingredients in making of the tonic syrups is Cinchona bark. It contains quinine, which is historically used to prevent and treat the disease malaria as it's a natural anti-inflammatory. The bark is what gives the tonic its unique bitter flavour. In addition to Cinchona bark our syrups also includes lemon and lime zest and juice and many other nutritious ingredients.
Gin is not required but highly recommended.
